regarded as lucky number, whereas the number 十三［shí sān] (13) is
considered to be unlucky. Likewise, in Chinese culture, people believe that certain numbers have auspicious or inauspicious meanings.
In China, people often avoid the number 四［sì] (4) because it sounds like the word “死 [sĭ]”, which means “death”. Therefore, many numbered product lines skip the number四［sì]. On the other hand, number 六[liù] (6) and number 八[bā] (8) are believed to have auspicious meanings because their names sound similar to the words that have positive meanings in Chinese.
