The new HSK test was
launched by Hanban in an effort to better serve Chinese language
learners. The test is the result of coordinated efforts by domestic and
foreign experts from different disciplines including Chinese language
teaching, linguistics, psychology and educational measurement. The new
exam combines the advantages of the original HSK while taking into
consideration recent trends in Chinese language training by conducting
surveys and making use of the latest findings in international language
testing.

KBLSS was founded in Brisbane in 2006 by a small group of language
lovers who noticed that there weren’t many Asian language courses
available in Brisbane.
Fun fact: Kawabe Learning Studio is now
KB Lingual Studio, because it’s easier to remember and to say. In the
original Japanese, Kawabe is pronounced “Ka-wa-beh”, but this is often
twisted by the Australian accent into “Ka-wa-bee”.

Mandarin is the most spoken Chinese language.
With more than 1 billion speakers worldwide, it has more native speakers
than any other language. Mandarin Chinese is the official language of
China and Taiwan but there are also
extensive Chinese speaking communities around the world, including other
parts of Asia, North and South America, Europe and Australia. Mandarin
Chinese is written with characters that represent both sounds and
meanings.

Cantonese is one of the five major Chinese
languages. lt has a history of over 2000 years and is spoken by about
100 million people across southern China, Hong Kong and Macao, as well
as throughout South-East Asia in such places as Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam.

Japanese is spoken
by over 120 million people, both in Japan and in Japanese communities
around the world. Japanese uses a combination of three sets of
characters, Katakana, Hiragana and Kanji characters, which were derived from Chinese characters.
